Thanks very much for your help Shirley, I will check the 1890 birth and then that will give me a better indication of year of death and will check the baby's death too, to see if there is a link to the same family. I also note the spelling of Somerville for George has 2 m's. This may also be a reason I am struggling to find the death. Ill let you know the outcome when I find out.

Really appreciate your help with my research.

So he married as George without the other names.

Wonder if the baby that died is the same family .

It will cost 5 units to view the birth record.

Maybe although he wasnt reg with all the names his parents did refer to him as such
.
Only looking at the other birth will tell if it was the same parents

Yes definately have the right marriage in 1911 and the census data you have is correct as Violet and William were is his parents, but I have the wrong birth for George now, I think? He lived into his 90's in the Kelso area.

Thanks Shirley,

Thats my thinking too, ill keep looking at varients and search for each of the 4 names and hopefully something will come up. I don't have a year of death, which would be a help.

Hi,

I wonder if anyone could help. I am tracing a scottish line and am new to the scottishpeople website. I am looking for George Winton Bell Somerville. I have found both his birth record and marriage record on there, born 1887 in Portobello, marrried 1911 in Musselburgh. On both occasions he is documented as his full name George Winton Bell Somerville. I am trying to find a death record for him, but nothing is coming up under that name or variants. He was definately still living in Scotland. Can anyone help and also if anyone has any hints of tips for searching scottish records, it would be a great help.

Thank you in Advance.
