I am trying to find parents of Dorothea Mitchell bor. 1910 weymouth know her mum was called Eleanor any help greatly needed ;-)

KathleenBell

KathleenBell Report 3 Jun 2013 23:17

Her father isn't with the family on the 1911 census so I think your only way of finding out who he was is to buy the birth certificate (unless someone can find her baptism record):-

Name: MITCHELL, Dorothea E
Registration district: Weymouth
County: Dorset
Year of registration: 1910
Quarter of registration: Oct-Nov-Dec
Mother's maiden name: Not available before 1911 Q3
Volume no: 5A
Page no: 265

I think her father might have been in the navy because on the 1911 census image under occupation Eleanor has written "Messman" and then crossed it out - presumably because that was her husband's occupation and she had written it next to her own name.
