Hello Beewasp, if you require further info on a family then the best way to do that is to add the request to your existing thread on the family - you can find it by using the "My Threads" link over on the left of these pages. When a post is added to a thread then it moves to the front of the boards.

The Help Clinic also over on the left explains this and about not repeat posting on a family

Hope this help. :-)

Not sure if you have found more or where else you have requested but this should help - from NLA Trove:

Barrier Miner, Wednesday 20 October 1954
Death of Mr. J. E. Rigg
The death occurred at the Hospital on Sunday of Mr. John Edwin Rigg (73). Mr. Rigg was born at Gawler, South Australia, but had been a resident here many years. He is survived by a widow and a grown up family of four sons (Messrs. J. E., W. A., D and S Rigg) and two daughters (Mesdames Stanley and Bartley). He was a member of the Old Age and Invalid Pensioners' Assoc., W.I.U. of A. and R.A.O.B. G.L.E. Ltd., Central Lodge No. 2100. The funeral, which was private took place yesterday at. 4 p.m., leaving his residence, 467 Lane Lane, for the Church of England Cemetery. Canon V. Hartwig officiated. Bearers were Messrs. J. Cherry. G. Cherry, P. Stevens and W. Charles. The Old Age and Invalid Pensioners Association was represented by Mrs. R. Williams.

Funeral notices suggest most of his family lived in South Australia. Including his wife, who maybe also died in SA???

His son had a close call some years earlier:
Barrier Miner, Friday 22 September 1933
MAN MISSING FROM HOME
Fears are entertained for the safety of Mr. John Edwin Rigg, jun., 467 Lane-street, who has been missing since yesterday afternoon. He visited a friend's house at 6 o'clock last night, and then left for home but failed to reach there.
It is thought that Mr. Rigg has had a memory lapse. He suffered an injury about two years ago and he is said to have had a recurrence of the trouble.
Mr. Rigg worked as usual at the South mine yesterday, and later went to a house at West Broken Hill. He intimated on leaving that he was going home.
The missing man is single and 26 years of age. He is 5ft. 2in. high, light build, has fair hair, brown eyes, and pointed nose. He was wearing a navy blue suit and a light-colored coat shirt. He was hatless.
Police, relatives, and. friends, of the missing man are now searching for him.

From NLA Trove:

Barrier Miner, Friday 21 February 1941
PASSING OF MR. W. D. RIGG
The death occurred today of a very old resident of Broken Hill, Mr. William Dow Rigg. He was born at Donnybrook, Victoria, and celebrated his 90th birthday about six weeks ago. He had been a resident of Broken Hill for about 54 years. Mr. Rigg was a mason by trade. He leaves a grown-up family of three sons-Messrs. J. E., W. C. and S. Rigg and three daughters-Mesdames A.I. Eglinton, W. S. Manoel and G. H. Haynes. The funeral will take place tomorrow, leaving his late residence, 581 Blende Street. North Broken Hill, at 2 p.m., for the Church of England Cemetery. The interment will be in the same grave as his wife, who predeceased him ln 1936. Fred J. Potter and Son have charge of the funeral arrangements.

Barrier Miner, Friday 10 January 1941
90-Year-Old Resident Tells Of Early Days
MR. WILLIAM RIGG, FIRST IN DISTRICT 75 YEARS AGO
INCIDENTS associated with the early days of Broken Hill when many of the now main buildings were only just being constructed, were recalled yesterday by Mr. William Rigg, of 581 Blende Street. He celebrated the 90th anniversary of his birthday yesterday.
Although in the last week he has not been in the best of health, Mr. Rigg is still very fit.
Mr. Rigg was first in this part of the country 75 years ago, when he travelled through to Albermarle Station on the River Darling.
"There was no thought then that in a few years' time there would be a mining rush here," Mr. Rigg said.
Mr. Rigg was born at Donnybrook (Victoria). His father was a partner in the shipping firm of McLean Brothers and Rigg in Scotland. He left the firm and brought his own ship to Australia. Disaster soon overtook them. After the family had settled in Victoria their property was destroyed by bushfire.
A relative of Mr. Rigg who was a colonel-officer in the Battle of Waterloo achieved distinction.
Mr. Rigg was only a youth when he felt the urge to seek adventure in the inland. He went to Albermarle Station and later was sent with some cattle to Adelaide.
"On my arrival in Adelaide I was 'anchored,' and decided to stay and follow my trade as a mason," Mr. Rigg said.
He recalled that when he first came to this district there were hundreds of aborigines. When he returned here 54 years ago to start work as a mason he found very few.
Mr. Rigg worked on many of the old buildings in the city. He worked on the Grand Hotel and the Freemasons' Hotel in addition to many other Argent Street structures. Many mason jobs along the line of lode received attention from Mr. Rigg. who was foreman mason at the Junction North mine for some time. He placed the last bricks on the chimney stack at the British mine.
ON FIRST BATHS
Another job of which he was foreman was the building of the original City Baths, but he left that job following a dispute over wages with Mayor Jabez Wright.
"I lived next to him at Peterborough at one stage and can remember his first funeral," said Mr. Rigg, referring to Broken Hill's only Mayor-undertaker, who was one of the most colorful personalities in civic affairs.
It is now more than 30 years since Mr. Rigg did any mason work with the exception of a little to his own home. He was in business in Blende Street for some years.
Mr. Rigg celebrated his birthday quietly yesterday and had only relatives in Broken Hill at his birthday tea last night. He received a number of telegrams and letters.
There are six children, Mrs. A. Eglinton, who is at present an inmate of Ru Rua Hospital, Adelaide, Mrs. Manoel, of Adelaide, Mrs. Haynes, of 581 Blende Street, and Messrs. Jack Rigg (B. Hill), and Will Rigg, of Adelaide. There are 14 grandchildren living and 12 great grandchildren. Mrs. Rigg died about five years ago.

-

Following the Victoria lead - can't see his birth/baptism there but there was a John & Isabella RIGG in Victoria around the right period (her mn was McTAGGART). If you Google their names, they did appear to live in the Donnybrook/Bankvale area. John RIGG died in Victoria in 1863 aged 54, born in Scotland, son of James & Grace (reg 4383). They had another son named John Carr RIGG who lived in NSW (might be where the odd 2nd given name for father on Wm's death comes from - perhaps CARO should read CARR...similarly the 2nd given name for Jno Edwin snr's father as DIVO should be DOW!). Isabella Campbell RIGG nee McTAGGART died in 1896 in Melbourne Hospital aged 60 (reg 10592)...though I don't think that age is correct as they were having children in the 1840s!
