From Papers Past

Otago Daily Times , Issue 5304, 18 February 1879, Page 2
MARRIAGE.
On the 25th January, 1879, at the School-house, Cambrians, Otago, New Zealand, by the Rev. J. O. M'Cosh Smith, John Pauley, second son of James Pauley, miner, of Cottyngham, Cambridgeshire, England, to Sarah Ann, eldest daughter of John Morgan, of Cambrians.

John Froment Pauley was a bootmaker.

His son John Morgan Pauley was a barber and tobacconist.

Another son Alfred Edward was a labourer in 1917, living at 735 Cumberland St, Dunedin when he enlisted.

There is a newspaper notice of the death of a Willam Albert PAULEY aged 24, beloved son of John & Sarah, at his parents' residence, 450 Castle St Dunedin, on 29 July 1912. This is his birth, looks like must be an error for mother's name:
1887/13639 Pauley William Albert / Mary Ann / John

and here's another
1890/4546 Pauley Edward Morgan / Mary Ann / John

He died aged 16 months in 1891 (reg 3042).

Did you Cherilyn?

Sigh...sometimes it's difficult to help if the original poster doesn't come back - especially if everyone is working hard trying to help

Ah well - have a good evening everyone :)

I have had contact with Sandra, and have tried to explain that she needs to post feedback to her thread.................I'm not sure how effective my message will be..especially as she has now 'marked as answered'

I DO wish GR would get rid of the function............it causes havoc
