Good evening all.
My wife has been doing her tree for a few years now,but it has come to light that she has been going down the wrong lines, she has been in touch with what she thought were relatives and they have never heard of her grandmother.
Info that she has got.
Frederick James Hoskins-Ellen C M day,married 1925 4th qrt in Willesden,London.
her death was in Willesden 1930.3a 288.
she has sent off for the marriage cert a while ago and it still has not arrived,so before she sends and spends again we are hoping that someone oh here might be able to help.what she has been searching for is her birth.
A bit of a long shot I know, but you never know.
Ps it is not the Ellen Day from the Feltham area,
many thanks.

I can't see a birth for an Ellen C.M. Day. Maybe she had been married before?

No rule that one out as she has Martha as middle name

And I think she married in 1929?
You will need to wait for that marriage cert I reckon.

Terry, have you looked up the births of Frederick and Ellen CM's children to confirm the mother's maiden name?

If you have, and it is Day, then there's the possibility that she was born outside of England & Wales.

Did your wife quote the GRO references when she ordered the certificate?

EDIT: The marriage definitely looks like 1925

Yes I think it will have to wait till the cert's received, there are a couple of possible's on the 1911 but could be any or none of them . :-)
