I wonder if this is Robert's family?? Maybe the surname got changed over the years to sound 'not so Irish?'
Robert and Margaret match the 1871 census.

Hi Reggie. I'm not sure if this is the right Margaret Shearer - from what my uncle tells me she married John William Breen in Coatbridge near Glasgow in around 1870. Then again his info might not be correct. Cheers Mick

Hi, Robert Shearer Breen of 39 Allendale cottages my G Grandfather. My Grandfather John was born in 1912 the year after William Watson Breen died before his 1st birthday. I'm having difficulty going further back than this. My uncle Norman Breen believes we were from Kilkenny in Ireland and left around 1850 to go to Scotland , possibly the Glasgow area. Any help is much appreciated. Mick
