Marian Report 3 Jul 2013 20:39

Hello, I've kept this request on this thread because it concerns the son (I hope) of Wm and Elizabeth Crawford above. Kelvin Crawford was born June Q 1895, Wandsworth. On the commonwealth war graves casualties there is the following Kelvin Crawford, Captain, died 11.4.1918 Royal Air Force. Also on Anc there are two entries for a Kelvin Crawford, London, one for draft, enlistment and service and the other for awards, decorations of honour. I would love to know if this is their son. Thank you.

Hello, Alvie, thanks for the above. I'll go to my local library to have a look at the images. Does it say what awards he got, if it is the same one. Thanks.

Hello, I've just discovered William and Elizabeth Crawford had a son Denzil as follows:

Denzil Crawford born Dec q 1901 Wandsworth area, MMN Wheatley.

In 1911 he is at boarding school at Westgate on Sea, Kent. I can't find anything for him after 1911 ie marriage or death on FreeBMD.

Have tried Denzel, Denzle and Denzal.

I was wondering if anyone could take a look at the 1939 census please. Thank you

Thank you again, his father had already died in 1920 and his mother died October 1935 so maybe he knew she was ill and came home to see her before she died. 42 Vineyard Hill was her address.

Normally we'd suggest that you contact the relevant states 'ask a librarian' service to give details of the notices. They may mention surviving relatives, However, NSW have now instituted a fee of AU$16.50 per image.

Valerie, another GR member & our 'go to' person for Australian records, has suggested "The 'National Library of Aus' (Canberra) covers ALL States - it MAY provide a better service".
