Please could someone help me.

I know that Joyce M M Spearman was born in 1924 Milton and her sister Margaret D Spearman was born in 1926 Milton - I can find no other record for them except their birth.

How would I find out if they were both adopted?

Thank you

Regards

Wendy

There were no official adoption record before 1927, so I don't think you will find anything. Anyway, adoption files are only available to the adoptee, no-one else can have access (other than some registered tracing agencies).

Have you tried emigration records if you can't find marriages/deaths?

Look for their mother, did she re-marry, did they take on the new partners birth name? There is nothing to stop someone calling themselves anything they like, so long as it is not to defraud.

Check for marriages under the mother's new name, if that is the case.
