Member Since: August 2010 Posts: 17 Send Message	Can anyone help me to find the maiden name of Mary J Hellyar, born 1873 Scarborough, Married to William Hellyar he was born I believe in St Merryn Cornwall in1867 on the 1901 census they lived in South Shields Co. Durham date of marriage unknown.

	Cannot find a birth for Mary Jane in Scarbro' 1873 +/- 1 year under the name Smaller so wonder if William could be a second marriage, The birth cert for George Thomas Hellyar may be required to clarify her maiden name Roy

	Just looked at the 1911 census again, Porkie and it states that George Thomas was also adopted! I will add this to the 1911 census above.

	In the event that no children was born to the marriage then if no one can find a birth for Mary Jane the marriage cert is the other option to see if smaller is her maiden name or if it is a second marriage Roy

	Is his father's name on the birth cert? If so, what is it? I did notice that the George Thomas is aged 14 in both 1901 and 1911 census, so there could be two Georges.

	Looking more closely at the 1901 image, George is aged 4 not 14.
