If she was born in 1844, you won't find a birth cert - civil registration did not start in Scotland until 1855. You will need to look for a baptism. Where in Scotland does the census say she was born?

Looking for clarification on Elizabeth Dorman. All census say she was born in Scotland but went to records office and I can't find certificate. Her birth year 1844. She married Thomas McCormick in 1864 in Scotland. Her parents were Thomas Dorman and Ann Neil. She died in Govan 14.5.1926.
The Dormans originally came from Ireland and I now suspect she was born there but I don't know which County.
I am also looking for Alexander McCormick born in Ireland. Again all census don't give County. He was born 1806 and married Helen Thomson (Thompson). He was an Agricultural Labourer. His father was William McCormick and mother Catherine Jamieson. He died 2.3.1874 in Wigtownshire, Scotland. Their children were Mary Jane McCormick b.1826 William b.1828 Helen 1830 Alexander 1832 John 1834 Robert 1837 Janet M. 1839 Catherine 1841 and the said Thomas McCormick above 1844 - They were all born in Scotland.
