Forgot to add Harry is 32 at the time of his marriage. I can't see an address. It just says Swynnerton as place living at time of marriage.

Hello, and many thanks for your research.
I already have the birth certificate for Doris Brough Turfrey, it names her mother as Florence Annie Turfrey. Her father is named as what looks like Gerry, he is recorded as as gardener, deceased.

The witnesses on Henry Boulton's marriage certificate are A. V. Turfrey, brother of Annie and C. M. Boulton - no idea who this is!

One can purchase BMD certs from the GRO or the local rego office that holds the original registration (or 1st copy in the case of church marrs).
Some local offices have an online index, and this necessarily has difft info from the GRO index - see http://www.ukbmd.org.uk/local_bmd
Here, I'm looking at http://www.staffordshirebmd.org.uk/

Clearly, an illegitimate birth, but is her mum Florrie or Elsie? - you'll need her b.cert to tell this, I think.

======================

Re sorting out which Henry/Harry is yours.
Who were the witnesses on his m.cert? - they're usually sibs of the couple, or the sibs' spouses.
What is Harry's age and address on the m.cert?

Sarah, you suggested that there may be more children than Violet and Arthur - it looks like there are.

Go to FreeBMD http://www.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/search.pl and search for births with surname Boulton and mother's maiden name Turfrey from 1920. There are 4 possible births in total.

Both are recorded as farm labourers.

Can you confirm the occupation of both Harry/Henry and his father from the marriage cert

After checking the very neat writing on the marriage certificate it appears he was called Henry.

Harry Boulton appears to be a common name in Staffordshire so think you need the marriage cert to confirm his age and the details of his father

Sarah

Sarah Report 17 Jul 2013 18:09

Hello,
I'm looking for some help to get information about my Boulton side of the family.
Harry married Doris Brough Turfrey and had two children I know of, there could be more!
Arthur, born in Stone, Staffordshire in 1924
Violet, born in Stone, Staffordshire in 1923
I have the marriage certificate of Arthur but my family know nothing of the generation before. Any information would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.
