Could you please go back to your friend and ask him for more details?
For instance are they believed to be someone's parents, or married to each other? The ages of parents or children or even year of death is a starting point.

Your friend must have some sort of chronological base line to work from.

In the meantime, if you edit your title (edit the first post) to include the words Vic, Australia it might attract the attention of those members who have a range of Australian sources.
