I wonder if he was in the Derby workhouse then. Although I think I'm right that he couldn't have died in the workhouse as it wouldn't have been registered in the Derby district. |

It's possible if he was in a hospital or institution that he may not have been recorded by his full name, perhaps just by his initials. |

The daughter is married to Robert William Nanson by 1891 and her father isn't with them. |

Thank you Catherine, that's the one I found. I put that she'd died in 1888 as I didn't want anyone wasting their time trying to find her in the 1891 census. |
