Thank you Dea and Potty, its complicated this and I think I have went about it in the wrong way because I am now just clutching at straws, a cousin of my husband who died recently led me to believe that the person I am looking for may have dropped his first christian name and went by his second christian name, I should have asked if someone could find the parents of this couple and that would have ruled this out,please dont be angry if ive made a mistake.

The person I am looking for is Edward Alexander Forbes, born 5/1/1876 in 100 Commerce St. Aberdeen, his mother was Johan Forbes nee Rae, no father for Edward, I have him on 1881 cenus with his mother age 4 then 1891 census aged 14, I cant find him after that, his mother died 1/1/1901 in the poorhouse in Aberdeen, but I cant find Edward, I have spent many days in the records office here and I cant find a marriage or death for him, I have asked for help before with this but I dont know how you find previous threads.

His mother had 4 children after 1864 when her husband died, no fathers on any BC, I think their middle names are the fathers, its been really difficult to find this family, but I managed, but Edward has never been found, I keep going back and looking, but as I said Im clutching at straws now, I think this maybe is the time to admit defeat and let it go.
