Hello Shirley, MarieCeleste and AnnCardiff,
Thank you all so much for this very helpful information.

I know quite a lot about the large family of George Rees (two wives) up to the time of his death, but living 'up north' I have never before tried to locate his final resting place. Your information will be a tremendous help.

I now feel that a trip to South Wales is on the cards!

Kind regards
Victor

His address was Poplar House, New Road, Porthcawl.

Where the rectors name would normally be written it says "Under the Burial Act of 1880"

It doesn't say exactly where buried but at least you know it was in Newton Nottage.

EDIT: Have sent Victor the image.

I am trying to find the grave of my great-great-grandfather, George REES, who died around J-S 1904 in the Newton Nottage area of Porthcawl, Glamorganshire.

George was born in Angle, Pembrokeshire, in 1818, worked in the area of Milford Haven as a Custom House Officer until about 1873, and then moved to Newton Nottage as Principal Officer of Customs.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Victor
