John was born in Plockton, on the West Coast of Scotland.
He joined the Army in 1914,Firstly the SeaforthHighlanders and then another Battalion. Their son was definitely called Charles. He might well have been born when John was in the Army. I am going to get a marriage cert to see if he was still in the forces in 1938.
