Find Ancestors

I knew that John was not her father but she was brought up with him for nearly twenty years and I was wondering if she gleaned anything from this contact about
the name of his mother. We know his father was Charles Saunders.
My mother told me that Annies father was from Kendal.
Elizas mother Ada Moulden also had two children before she married Kneale in 1897.
They were all born Moulden but when Ada and John got married they took on the
surname Kneale.
Makes you wonder whether they were his children but for some reason couldnt
get married at the time.

Yes, I know there was an error in 1901..............it doesn't alter the facts

Changing Eliza's surname to Kneale after marrying her mother does not in any way indicate that John was her father.

It would help if you told us what you want to know

When you look on the 1901 census you will see that a mistake has been made as
far as surname i s spelt. You will see that the ssurname has a K in front.
Going back yhrtrough all the records from the isle of man neal was always spelt with a k.
Elizas parents were Ada Moulden who gave birth to eliza before she married
John Thomas Kneale who then changed her name to kneale.
John Saunders is on the 1911 census living in grange (allithwaite) on a farm as labourer aged 35 stating that he was born in Royston, cambridgeshire.
In 1925 he was still living in grange and that year he married eliza in Sept.
My mother was born 10th Dec 1925.Alexander Moulden was Adas brother

John Saunders wasn't Annie's father.............he married her mother two years after Annie's birth, and Annie married as Kneale.

Are you saying that ELIZA's parents were Kneale and Moulden?

How did you find out that John Saunders was born in Royston?


BTW..............I think you'll find that the place in Worcs is Powick..............

There is, however, no record of an Ada Moulden in Worcestershire.....at all

Looking to see if Annie had any info about her father John Saunders born in
Royston, Cambridgeshire. His father name as charles on his marriage cert.
He was 50 yars old when married to Eliza , Annies mother, she being 30 years old.
Her ancestors , father, was from the isle of man named jack kneale. and Ada Moulden her mother from Bowick, worcs

If this is the husband's death.......they both died in Chelmsford, Essex.

Annie Parmenter Peacefully in the William Julian Courtauld Hospital, Braintree on 30 July 2007, aged 84 years. Much loved mother to Judith, Brain, Susan and Christopher, a dear mother in law, grandmother and great grandmother. Sadly missed by all. Funeral Service at Chelmsford Crematorium on Tuesday 14 August at 2pm. Floral tributes may be sent to T Pennack & Sons, Funeral Directors.

Annie was my mothers half sister my mother being Constance Margaret Saunders.
Know that he husband charles has died but cannot find anything about Annie.
Met Annie in the 1970 when she came to visit up in Cumbria.
Annie also had a half brother who has since died as well as my mother who died
last year.She was 86.

My mother married Joseph Dunn in 1943
I also know that Annie was in the forces during the war where she probably met
Charles.
