Many thanks for the info on the McClures I am very grateful. Perhaps Maud Hampson was born on way over to the States. Ireland seems to be mentioned so I feel sure that's where they sailed from. In 1880 when Aaron Joseph was christened as an adult I think he became a RC because his intended wife Elizabeth McCarthy most probably was and she may have been from Irish descent. I did notice that the witness of the nationalisation of Joseph A Hampson was a William McCarthy, he could have been a brother in law who could also have gone to the States.
