Transcribed as Eckles on ancestry, so he was still unmarried in 1851, wonder why they didn't get married??

OMG you 2 are brilliant I, did get confused with the surname ACKLES, I am so very happy,, Postlethwaite does seem strange as the witness to the marriage. Another strange thing is that there is a George GIBSON on the census...that is the other side of my family that I need to find out---- My mothers maiden name!!!! Many thanks once again x

Sorry Reggie was the burial you noted 20 Dec 1818 was that for daughter Anne or son James aged 1, if it was James then does that mean they had another son James in 1825?...I know I must sound thick but I fed up with the name JAMES lol maybe you do as well ..certainly patience is needed on this !!!! :-D
