Redhead/ Readheads of East Butterwick.

Kay Report 13 Sep 2013 13:36

Does anyone have any information on the lives of the Redhead family of east Butterwick, late 1700s to 1800's? They had a farm called Holly house or Holly Farm, which still stands and is a working farm. I'm interested in who they were and what they did if there is any existing information anywhere? There is folklore saying that one of the sons fell out with his dad and went off travelling and was written out of the dad's will- I think this is my direct ancestor, William.

Just wondered if there was anyone out there researching the same family.

Kay.

East Butterwick is where, please?

If you wish to find connections on GR.....look in 'search all trees'.under the 'search' button, top right

OK....I've looked it up.....it's Lincolnshire

Lincolnshire PR's are on FMP, but not name-indexed.

Have you put your tree on here, so that anyone searching can perhaps make the connection with you?

I believe Rebecca Readhead/Redhead married into the Benson family and became the Landlady of the Dog and Gun public House in East Butterwick in the late 1800's

This is from http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=anglofrisian&id=I11807

He married Ann, not Rebecca.

I assume Robert Otter, above was his brother?
