I see you have seen my post and replied with regard to my request to remove your email address but you have not taken that advice and left your post with the email address in tact.

Don't complain when it does get reported

Roy

Edit, Just to say putting your email address on a public site has security and privacy issues for example from your email addy I found in seconds your full name and location plus where you are originally from so once again I suggest you remove it

7a) GOSSIP COLUMN

MORE ON DANCERS
Mention must be made of Joyce Janjetich - Auntie Joycie to everyone. Her talent at the piano was unbelievable. She joined Dorothy in 1947. I have known her to keep in time with a dancer, slowing down and quickening up to a dancer's pace (especially when a child is tapping) and even finishing the music at the same time as the dancer, even though there may have been another seven bars of music to the end! She never learned to tap. Just by observing the lessons whilst playing the music, she became very proficient in tap dancing. In fact, when she left Zimbabwe with her daughter, Sharleen, she became a member of The Golden Girls, a tap group of senior ex dancers that Sharleen taught and danced with in Kwa-zulu Natal. A truly remarkable lady right to the end.

Maybe Joyce who married Anthony?

I'm really sorry but the records I posted are from https://familysearch.org. I know nothing else about the family.

There is a tree on ancestry with Janjetich family. It is Wade Family Tree (Durban, South Africa) I have no idea if you already know about these people?

There is also the name mentioned on http://www.national.archives.gov.za/index.htm. If you click on National Automated Archival Information Retrieval System (NAAIRS) then Search then look at the RSA database, you will find some of the family.

If you google the name, a few pages come up including one for everyone on facebook with that name. https://www.facebook.com/family/Janjetich/1

Roy thanks. I sincerely hope NO ONE reports me as I have been trying for years now to obtain information on my mother's side of the family. Sadly my mother NEVER knew her family as her mother Mary died when my mom was 2 years old
and she and her sister Helen were placed in an orphange by their father. As I type, I have tears as I know what a devestating affect this had on my mother and her sisterand it lasted until both my mother & her sister passed away. I sincerely hope to finally find the family my precious mother never knew.

I believe there were 2 brothers who travelled out to South Africa. The 1 brother stayed in South Africa and my grandfather moved to Southern Rhodesia with his wife and children. The entries here regarding the marriages in Natal are obviously belonging to the Janjetich Family. So thank you and I welcome further information.

Antonie Janjetich was born in Austria in 1860. His real surname was spelt YANJETICK but it seems as though he changed it as it was too hard for the South Africans and Rhodesians to pronounce. He must have come to South Africa in about 1875 - 1880. I think he must have gone up to Rhodesia in about + - 1890. BUT I am not sure.

Looking to find out where my Great Grandfather Antonie Janjetich was born and the date. We know he was from Europe, possibly Austria or nearby. He lived in the Transvaal, South Africa for a short period and then travelled by ox-wagon to Southern Rhodesia now known as Zimbabwe. He purchased a farm in Essexvale,.Matebeleland Province and named it Good Luck Farm.
