That's a breakthrough for my research... I haven't yet traced James Sargent (son of Thomas and Nancy Ann Taylor death which would have been after 1866 (youngest son James born 1866) and before 1871 where Sarah is widowed and remarried in 1872 to William Leck. James would have been born c1824

I would imagine that is the case for the family listed..all have Irish as their "Origin"

Gosh!!! thanks guys! am I seeing right tho, does that last census with James and Sarah's son Wallace say he's of Irish origin???? Would I be correct in assuming that his grandfather Thomas could be from Ireland??

A lookup at LAC gets:
http://www.bac-lac.gc.ca/eng/census/Pages/census.aspx
1851
Given Name(s): Thomas
Province: Nova Scotia
District Name: Halifax (county)
Sub-District Name: Halifax

thru
http://data2.collectionscanada.gc.ca/1851_pdf/e096/e002383842.pdf

Since LAC uses Ancestry's transcription, I presume Ancestry points to the same image(s).
However, the name on the image is James Sergant.

???? Just has head of household & wife. Looks like maybe a male and female between 20 and 30 and a male between 40 and 50 live there. This is by no means exact as it is very dark and the lines between households are not defined.

Trying to locate Thomas Sergant born 1785 according to his death in Middle Musquodoboit Nova Scotia Canada. He married Nancy Ann Taylor, cant find a marriage for them but they did have a son James born 1824 same place as mentioned above. I have found the "find a grave" where I see Thomas above who has died in 1860 and his wife Nancy Ann who has died in 1855. I am looking to find out where Thomas and Nancy were born where they married and who their parents were. I could only trace one Thomas Sergat born 24 June 1874 in Italy to parents Henry and Sarah, but its just a guess... I cant find a census which will at least tell me where he was born....Help!!
