Louisa Lloyd b 1824 Romford, Essex

ProfilePosted byOptionsPost Date

Amanda,

Amanda, Report 18 Nov 2013 21:00

Hi Margaret,

I think she is your Louisa but I have checked St Edwards for Ann Lloyd in both the Burials and Marriages and found nothing to 1841 Census time for Burials and 1837 for Marriages.

Kind regards
Amanda

Margaret

Amanda - thank you so much. If that is indeed Charles dying 1828, there possibly were'nt any children after Louisa who was born 1824. Maybe Louisa is on the census returns under her mothers 'new' married name - assuming she would have remarried. Thanks again.

Amanda,

Amanda, Report 18 Nov 2013 19:21

Hi Margaret,

There is a Burial in the same Church of Charles Loyd 30.3.1828 who could well be him aged 40.

I haven't looked further for Ann as she may have remarried.

Kind regards
Amanda

Thank you Suart for all your efforts. Where her father Charles (and her mother) are on the earlier census returns is anybody's guess. There are innumerable Charles Lloyds b. 1788 about but as I have no idea of the area of his birth I am now at a standstill. Your help much appreciated.

As you said you only had her in 1861 - unfortunately, never with parents/siblings

Thank you Margee - that confirms father as Charles. A pity I can't find him on any census - it's so frustrating isn't it

The only sight I have had (other than that 1841 possibility) is on 1861 census when she is married to William Young living Artichoke Row, Mile End, London. I am continuing to look but was hoping to find her living at home to help with parents and/or siblings which is why I had hoped her baptism may have thrown something up. Thanks for trying.

greyghost Report 18 Nov 2013 17:26

Have you been able to track Louisa forwards, there might be a chance that she is with siblings or parents on later census?

There is no relationship or occupation or place of birth on the 1841 census, Louisa is said the have been born in the County ie Essex, (but not necessarily Romford). She may even be related to the Turners. But difficult I would have thought to tie her down otherwise.

Margaret Report 18 Nov 2013 17:12

Could anyone help locating the birth/baptism record fo the above Louisa whose father I believe to be Charles Lloyd. I have found a Louisa Loyide on 1841 census b. Romford , Essex but she appears to be a servant. I am wanting to confirm her father's name. No mothers name available I'm afraid nor siblings. Many thanks for any help you can give.
