Find Ancestors

Sophie (Sophy) Carty was my grandmother. She was born in Ireland and moved to England. I can only find her on the 1911 English Census, working in a house in London, and also in 1915 on her marriage certificate. She married my grandfather, Richard Lane in Marylebone. Her father, Andrew is listed on the marriage cert, as a stone mason. I think I've found him on the 1911 Irish Census living in Wexford. I want to find Sophie in Ireland and trace back her family.

yes, that's the 1911 Census where I found Andrew, but I hadn't seen the 1901 Census ~ still no sign of Sophie.

Rosamund...If you check out the 1901 Irish Census for the Co Wexford you will find the following family living next door to Sophia Carty on Mary St. given the details I would be suprised if he is not a son of Sophia snr.

1911 shows Wm.and family living 5 Cockpit Lane.

I cannot locate Sophia snr 1911 but at 47 Mary Lane is living a Mary Ellen WILLIAMS with her 3 children....(the children who who with Sophia snr. 1901 are now with their widowed mother)...she is also a Maternity Nurse Sophia snr.was a Midwife...I imagine Sophia snr. was Mary Ellens mother....

I have found 2 Births for the New Ross area Michael Francis and Thomas Patrick..parents listed as Michael Carty and Sophia Eade...it is a possibility that these are the grandparents of Sophia....
