BUT....if Francis was born in Oct 1907, his brother couldn't have been........or at least not in a county on the other side of the country

I am awaiting his marriage cert - his death says place of birth unknown!
this is why when I found the 1911 with a possible for him as a child- and odd birth reg. for one boy in that - I wondered if they were both adopted or something?

Hopefully the marriage cert will yield more and name a Father. I was more curious as to why a child might me registered what looks like 3 times in 2 q's.

Chris has discoered the correct one now - thansk for your help. Will sit tight till marriage cert comes now.

I have now found them on 1911 (together) and 1891 (together) - and Amelia Fanny on 1901 - with an aunt. (Winnifred Marsh) (AMelia is saying sh'es single)

They married in JAS 1888 William Cox Amelia Fanny Marsh.

BUT I cannot find William Cox anywhere on 1901 - i wondered if he was in prison ?

I still think its odd they married in 1888 were together in 1891 -but not together in 1901 - and in 1911 only have two children born fairly recently. I have no idea where William was in between. really there is no sign of him for definite from 1891 to 1902.
Unless he was selling watches /jewellery away somewhere?

I now have the marriage cert for Francis John Cox dated 1957. His father is named as William Cox (deceased) watchmaker and jeweller.

I have him safely on 1911 age 3

but am very puzzled as to William in 1901 - he just does not seem to be anywhere at all? anybody who enjoys searching I'd be glad of help . Amelia is with her
Aunt, Winifred Marsh but as 'single' I'm not sure if this is an error or intentionally put. I notice although married for a long time they did not have children for a long time - which makes me wonder if he was 'elsewhere'.

I don't have access to criminal records -but have tried googling various things -but nothing comes up. Library open again on Monday!
