Maybe it could be this one? If anyone could check please. as last time I know she was alive was in 1911 and her husband died in 1914 - and was registered by the son.So just rethinking!

Last stab at it - i;'d be very grateful .

Now I just found another death - for 1918!!! so really not sure.

I know she was born 1856. and was still alive in 1911 -but nothing after that.
not to worry .

So who was your Mary Ann Strong married to?

When you're searching the probate records are you checking that there's a corresponding death with the approximate age of the person you're looking for?

This one was the wife of a Jeremiah Strong.

Appears this one was born c1837 according to 1911 census and death record.

Thank you very much for looking -but No :(

She was the 3rd wife of Henry C H Strong. - he died in 1914. She isn't mentioned on the death certificate- and he was registered by his son. But she could have still been alive as they were not together in 1911 census. (He was in the workhouse) -but she was alive in Exeter - but saying she was head of the house.
The address he was at when he died was not the address she was at in 1911 either- but only a few doors away. She was born in 1856 (Mary Ann Carpenter nee Crump)

Not to worry - I was hoping it would be simple
:-D :-D :-D :-D :-D
Please don't use any more time on my behalf -youve been really kind x

edit, I added the below before you posted the above fairlyfatfairy :-)

this household in 1901 in Exeter I would think ?

Henry J H Strong 65
Mary A Strong 44
Charlie Strong 17
> Bertie Strong 15
Winifred Strong 8
Wilfred Strong 5

and in 1911

Mary Ann Strong 53 (married)
Winnifred Strong 18
Wilfred S H Strong 15

not seeing a Henry death in 1913 though

Marriages Sep 1892
CARPENTER Mary Ann Exeter 5b 157
Strong Henry Charles H Exeter 5b 157

oh, 1914

Deaths Jun 1914
Strong Henry C H 79 Exeter 5b 102

were they estranged in 1911?
if so it might not be surprising if the son registered the death
... he was in the workhouse in 1911, aged 76, perhaps infirm

I would certainly check the 1918 death if you want to know for sure

Deaths Sep 1918
Strong Mary A 60 Exeter 5b 99

60 is a very round number and there doesn't seem to be another Mary in the 1911 census to fill the bill

Thanks Joonie Cloonie for your input

I am awaiting the 1918 cert. as I came to the same conclusion!

Yes he came out of the workhouse and died in Albion Place Exeter. he suffered from Chest problems all his life. He was buried in a paupers grave -no headstone etc -even though there were loads of family about - think he might have fallen out with them possibly.

I found the burial for the 1918 Mary A too on the council website - so awaiting any more info I can glean from that .
Thanks very much. :-) :-) :-)
