You could try to find out if there is a local (free?) paper. If there is and it has a letters page put a request for information in it. We occasionally get that sort of request in ours.

I'm trying to find the name of a greengrocers that traded in Burwash Road, Plumstead SE18 during the 50's through to the early 70's. It was the only shop in the road. If anyone could point me in the right direction I would be very grateful.
