Michigan, State Census, 1894
Description
Name index of the Michigan state census taken in June 1894. Due to destroyed and missing records, in addition to a partial acquisition of records, this collection includes the following counties: Barry, Benzie, Bay, Dickinson, Emmet, Gratiot, Ingham, Iosco, Kalamazoo, Kent, Keweenaw, Lapeer, Leelanau, Menominee, Montcalm, and Washtenaw. Please visit the wiki for more information.

So - although some counties from the upper peninsula are present, there's nothing from Marquette Co in this collection.

Thank you for your answer Astra. The name Davey is very significant, not least because Joseph Hocking has it as a middle name.

Can follow up on the Prout/Hocking/Davey family now to find new cousins and solve some family mysteries
