Hi there,

Despite researching my family for over 12 years now, I've only today discovered that my great grandfather Joseph Godon (1908-1981) was a singer at Butlins in the 1940s/50s. He spent quite a few years there apparently.

Any idea if there would be any records about that? I suspect not but worth a try!

That's him Jacqueline. He wasn't born with that middle name but he was RC so I assume took it at confirmation.

No, not asked Butlins. Not sure where to start.

He was also apparently won a competition in May 1939, in Middlesbrough, which involved in some capacity Chick Henderson. I know nothing more than that though!

The link to Butlins Obits is about a Gordon ricketts and I can see only video's of a Joseph Gordon Levitt on the bing video link :-S :-S :-S

I don't know what Ann is seeing ??

which is why I have suggested that just copying and pasting snippets from search results isn't especially helpful :-)

(and re what I think is your edited post below, AnnCardiff, some of us find random unrelated information posted in people's theads, which confuses askers and helpers alike ... and not even deleted then ... at least as irritating ...)
