Someone else has Henry born 1915 Birmingham at 1 Western Road on their tree- this address was the workhouse.

Harry has Annie Howes 1894 in his tree

Harry- what name is Henry's mother listed as on the birth certificate?

Many women went into the workhouse to give birth- does it give a usual address/ occupation for Annie?

Hello Harry,

Thanks for your message- it's easier if you reply using the box below so that everyone can see the information.

"HI,
HENRY WAS THE ILLIGITIMATE SON OF EDITH ANNIE HOWES AND DID SPEND TIME IN THE ''WORK HOUSE
B.M.D RECORDS SHOW SHE WAS LISTED AS MOTHER BUT SHE IS LISTED AS HOWEN [A TYPO] OR ATTEMPT TO HIDE HIS BIRTH
HIS BIRTH CERT. SHOWS EDITH HOWES. "

I think the Howes/ Howen thing is a transciption error- mother's name is Howes on the actual image of the indexes.

Is there an address for Edith on the birth certificate?

Did Henry stay with his mother? Did she marry? If she's listed as Edith where does the Annie come from?

Do you know what area your father grew up in? Did he remain in Birmingham?

I'm sorry it's more questions, but I think to help on this we're going to need all the information you have.

VOL 18 PAGE 256 LINE 84
I have contacted ediths family who deny any connection, any indiscretion is 100

Harry- Do you mean Aston rather than Ashton?

I'm a little confused as you've asked for help re your Howes line, but it seems you already know information re Henry's mother that you haven't shared.

How do you know that the Edith on your father's birth cert is Edith Annie?

You have Edith born 1894, but another member Brian, that also has your father in his tree has Edith born 1890. Are you in touch with Brian?

hi Austin
BRIAN is my brother in law in England
i have information regarding Ediths family from 1901 census showing mother/father
ect. but the family have denied any connection the 1920 census will show
if he is listed with her or resident in a home
all the information fits but is she my Edith ?
i posted my thread hoping another branch of family might help
the Annie could be a confusion with mother/sibling
the brick wall gets higher and thicker.i have ''family'' out there somewhere
