John Chapman was born c 1740 and married Hannah Parkin in Wentworth W.R Yorkshire 2/1/1766. They had a son called William Jenkinson Chapman in 1779. Does anyone know where John Chapman was born and his parents.

Thanks for the replies but neither of them seem to be the right one. John Chapman worked on the Wentworth Estate near Rotherham and also died there. Some Chapmans still live in Wentworth now.

did john and Hannah have any children before William it seems a long time to have a child in 1879 when they married in 1866 could be William was not their child by birth
