Parish Register Help Please

Hi All

I was looking through the parish register and found my relation but next to the date of

June 3rd 1881 it had a capital P to the left of this in margin, would anyone be able to tell me what the P meant???

Is the record a baptism? If so then the "P" could mean "private".

Sometimes if a baby is ill or not expected to live then there is a private baptism (possibly at home), and then if the child survives it is later "accepted into the church" instead of being baptised at the church.
