I have not yet established the divorce details, but as both parties remarried I am assuming they were. I have traced the details of the life of Mary Elizabeth Walker after the break up.
However the obituary of Betty Harrower mentions a daughter Lesley, but I cannot find a BMD reference for the birth of Lesley with the surname of Ranshaw.

Think Leslie was born in South Rhodesia.

Ancestry has incoming records for Betty Harrower age 23 in 1953 with 3 month old Leslie. Thomas (?) Thorne (?) Harrower's name (RAF) has been crossed out from the passenger list. They are going to 64 Rendel (?) Street, Grimsby

There is a marriage for a Lesley C Harrower in 1971 in Grimsby, possibly followed by another marriage to Carl D Smith.

I had also found the marriages for Lesley, but had not found the birth registration.
but if she was born in South Rhodesia that would be the explanation.
Betty married Thomas Harrower in 1950. The Rendel address will give something to research when I am next in the local library

Bruce, am sending you a birth registration for Leslie C Harrower , mother named Ranshaw, a bit peculiar as has 1953, but then 1995 , which is why I'm sending it by pm.

EDIT: It is an overseas birth that took place in 1953, but for some reason wasn't registered until 1995.

64 Rendel Street, was the home of her mother and her second husband.

Gives his age as 26, so should be a birth around 1927.
