Member Since: July 2010 Posts: 2 Send Message	Hello - I am hoping to find some information about my grandfather, John Arthur Ford - born c1884 in London to John and Mary (Gillham) Ford - as per the information passed down. I have been unable to find a conclusive birth certificate - or marriage record for John and Mary - with the details I have. He emigrated to Australia in approx 1910 - worked his passage by ship. His marriage certificate (to Ethel Wigglesworth) in Sydney in 1920 states both parents were dead. I am unsure how much of this information is correct. Any information or suggestions would be very much appreciated. Kind regards ... Sue Kennedy

I have John Arthur Ford's marriage and death certificates - also the discharge paper from working his passage to Australia on the Themistocles in 1911 at the age of 25 - also 2 WW1 enlistment rejection papers (due to varicose veins) - but that's all I have. When I was young I was told he was born within the sound of Bow Bells - I think that is the End End of London? My father had said there was an Irish relative somewhere. Not sure if these facts are true - or if there is any way to check. Please let me know if anyone can think of anything else I could look into. Thanks again ... 	looking at the death for john Arthur in 1970 in Sheffield there is a birth for a john Arthur could he be the one that died Births Mar 1884 (>99%) Ford John Arthur Ecclesall B. 9c 354
