I have a death cert for a Laura Freda Jane Smith states maiden name as de Denue born France, on her marriage cert it looks like Denian or Deniau, she married a Benjamin Smith in Prestwich Lancs 1912 & her father is called Louis occupation farmer. deceased.
I 've searched various sites without luck, she was born in 1891 & died 1973.
Can anybody help to shed some light on this mystery.

The witnesses were William Smith & Hannah Smith, presuming connected to her husband benjamin Smith, her residence was 11 Wilford Street Moston Manchester

Things seem to relate to Wurttemberg, or Italy for 123rd Regiment, would have thought something on google for it...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Basilica_of_Saint-Quentin

(Not seeing Benjamin 1911 found on other 'Thread', details posted for him)

All the info i have on the Smiths come from the marriage cert

Benjamin Smith age 27 cloth lapper 28 Dyson St Miles Platting M/c

His father called Harry Smith (deceased) Commericial traveller

The witnesses were William Smith & Hannah Smith, presuming connected to her husband benjamin Smith, her residence was 11 Wilford Street Moston Manchester

Chris Ho

Correct for 1939 Register

Possibly St Quin has been shortened from Quentin
read your link not sure if the same i could find no link myself for le Brisoule
that is how i read it from the letter

Checked the marriage cert again could be Wilfred st Moston the writing not clear
