In my parent's notes they mention them at the start of the war. One of my Uncles considered living with them in the country as he lived in Coventry (and his fears came true).

I now see you have posted the 1939 details which matches a lot of things to do with Thomas. He was buried in Abberton.

Seeing the 1911 you have kindly put up for me reminds me of when I met Francis Athur Hemming at my Great Grand Mother's house and he gave me an old coin he had found in a field.(this was circa 1955). The coin and Dad's medals were stolen when I lived in London.
