Member Since: April 2003 Posts: 3 Send Message	My husband's surname is spelt Fitz-Gerald and it is often mentioned "why do we hyphenate it" and other times Fitzgerald is spelt Fitzgerald. Does anyone know why some are hyphenated? I know that Fitz means "illigimate" son of....
