THIS IS THE ONLY INFORMATION I HAVE I am looking for any living or other relative to a WILLIAM TURNER, born 10.03.1916, at 35 Trevor St, Newton, Rochdale, Lancashire, England. He was born to a SARAH BALL and a WILLIAM TURNER. I am not sure if they married, it says so on the birth certificate, and my grandfather said he thought they were married in Preston, Lancashire. But again unsure if this was so, have not found any evidence to say so. SARAH BALL came supposedly from Ireland WILLIAM TURNER came supposedly from Scotland. William was meant to have been a stripper and grinder in a mill. Sarah I am not sure what she did. He later ran away from home at about 14 years of age and never returned. He joined the Army once he had left home, enlisting in the Royal Signals Army Corps, down Surrey way we think. He was in the Army for a number of years and was stationed at Inkerman Barracks. He was then later invalided out of the Army. He married my grandmother and the rest we know about. He has since passed on and I have not been able to find anything despite exhaustive searching. Can anyone help me; I seem to have hit a dead end and can not find this family.I would like to contact his family as they are my family as well Thank you any information and help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much if you can help me, Nicola Apperley (Australia)
