I am interested in HENRY JONES, a jeweller, born 1851-1853 in Stoke. He married to MARY WARD (18 Nov 1872 at Bishops Ryder, Birmingham)... The wedding certificate for Henry and Mary with the following information on it... Registration District - Birmingham 1872 marriage solemnized at the Parish Church in the Parish of Bishop Ryder, Birmingham in the County of Warwick Entry 481 18th November 1872 Henry Jones, 21, Bachelor, Jeweller, Belmont Row Father - CHARLES JONES, PORK BUTCHER Mary Ward, 19, Spinster, -, Belmont Row Father - John Ward, Iron Fitter Signed - Henry Jones, the mark of Mary Ward Witnesses - Charles Jones, Mary Jones They had the following children... Harry Jones b 1874 in Birmingham Charles A Jones b 1876 in Birmingham George Jones b 12 Oct 1877, 9 Court Cardigan Street, Duddeston Charles Jones b 30 Mar 1880, 9 Court Cardigan Street, Duddeston Leonard Jones b 20 May 1888, Back of 32 Garbett Street, Ladywood Mary Ward Jones died 29 April 1891. Her death certificate states: Registration District - Birmingham; Sub - District - Ladywood; County of Birmingham - Entry 237 29 APR 1891; Back of 32 Garbett Street, Ladywood, Birmingham Mary Jones, Female, 36 Years, Wife of Henry Jones, Jeweller/Journeyman Cause of Death - Pneumonia Asthenia, Certified by H S Cook MRCS Informant - H Jones, Widower if Deceased, Present at Death, Back of 32 Garbett Street Registered - 1 May 1891. John McCuan, Deputy Registrar HENRY JONES married again - his second wife was EMMA JANE CARR - she was born b 28 Aug 1872. They married on 15 Dec 1894 at St Cuthberts, Birmingham/Smethwick. Emma bore him 3 sons before he died sometime before her remarriage in 1911. The children were: Bertram Jones b 6 Aug 1895, 49 Molliett Street, Smethwick Sydney Jones b 21 Dec 1896, 49 Molliett Street, Smethwick Frederick Jones b 1899 ? This is about all I have on the Jones/Wards and Jones/Carrs - If you have anything on Henry Jones, the Jeweller, or his father, Charles Jones, the Pork Butcher or anyone vaguely related to them by blood or marriage, I would love to hear about them...
