Although I lived in Hereford for some time, I am not related to Janet who posted on the notice board. I did research the family line some years ago, tracing it back to the origins in the village in Staffordshire that bears our family name. Go back 3 generations and there we are in Stoke and Newcastle under Lyme doing farming and of course, pottery! It was interesting going through wills from the 16th and 17th centuries and noting how the spelling changed each time so that is not a new phenomenon!
