John

John Report 20 Dec 2012 22:21

I wondered if the John Cartwright above had a son John who married an Elizabeth Mottram at St Giles Newcastle in 1795

I am looking for any relations of John Cartwright from Newcastle Under Lyne in Staffordshire. John was born in 1706, he married Anne Henshall (d.o.b. 1710) in 1731. John Cartwright went to work as a mining agent to Sir Nicholas Bayley on the Isle of Anglesey. I am originally from Anglesey and have a Cartwright in my family tree. The Cartwrights were unheard of in Anglesey until John Cartwright came to work there so I am sure there must be a connection somewhere. There is no mention of Cartwrights on Anglesey after 1850's. Any help would be gratefully received. I have traced his will on the National Archives and there it mentions Lower Street, Hearts Head Croft and also Ashfield.
