Looking for any Hardy's left in Shepley near Huddersfield. James Henry Hardy- my great grandad left Shepley in mid 1800's. He lived around Dobroyd/marsh with sheep farmers, weavers and clothiers. A relative called Betsy hardy born in mid 1800's in sheffield disappeared after her mother, Mary Hardy, died. Became a master tailor around St. Phillips area of Sheffield. Also had a silversmiths shop in leicester Street, Sheff- end of 1800's beginning of 1900's. Are there any Hardy's left in shepley? We may be related! Would Love to say hello.
