That's great Carol, thanks for giving us an update.

Thanks for all the good advise. I do appreciate it. I thought I would also let you know that Ann made contact about five minutes after I removed my email address from my post. She has been working on her tree for years and so have I. I have not actually used Genes Reunited for this purpose, but came to a brick wall and figured I had nothing to lose. Actually I first joined many years back, but never used it. Now there is so much more on this site. It is amazing. Looking forward to getting to know you all better. Thanks again :-)

I agree Carol, the site takes a bit of navigating but worth sticking with it for the help you get on the boards, there are some excellent researchers on here.

I know your post here was to make contact with Ann but if you need any help at any time with your own research then just start a thread and we'll be happy to help.

This thread gives tips on how to start that
http://www.genesreunited.co.za/boards/board/ancestors/thread/1267972

You just use the "add topic" button at the top of the boards.

Dont worry you will soon get the hang of the boards. I made some right howlers when i started (and still do). There is always someone to correct you .Some are a little bit gruff but they mean well

Thanks - I have just done that. For a first time user it is a complex site to manipulate, and actually I have frequently contacted people on other sites when the postings have been old, with much success. I realize it is unlikely, but always worth a try.

Hello Carol, if you go to your post above there is the word "edit" just above it. If you click on that you can then get back into the post to amend what's in there. Then just delete the bit with your email address.

To try to contact Ann click on her name and that opens up the message system.

By the way, none of us on here are employees of Genes - we're all paying members who answer the queries. Some other people are a bit over zealous and would report a post that breaches the terms and conditions so GB was trying to prevent that happening to you. :-)

You can go to that post and click on edit You can then remove the email address and re submit

As Ann's post is an old one it is unlikely she will see your post, click on her name and send a message, if GR has a current email addy for her she will be notified. ( sorry just noticed GlitterBaby already mentioned that :-D )

Sorry , but I am not trying to ignore your rules, so you do not need to get rude. I am having difficulty trying to navigate your site. I an still trying to find out how to remove my email address.

Carol

You have read my message but for some strange reason you obviously do not think the Terms and Condtions apply to you.

Remove your email addy before someone sends your post for review.

Carol

It is actually aginst the Terms and Conditions to display your email addy.

Would be best to try and contact Ann by sending her a message and if she still has the same email she will get notification from GR

Will send a pm
