Way back in 1784 Anthony Osborne married Ann Selmes in Ewhurst, Sussex. They had five kids : Elizabeth 1784, John 1786, James 1788, William 1789, & Anthony 1791 (born after the death of his father). My 3gts gmother Eleanor Cooke b 1793 married William in 1812. My 2gts gfather William Cooke, thence Osborne, was nearly 3 at the time and we haven't yet proved his paternity. Help? (I have also posted a request in 'Records Office') Elizabeth may have married Samuel Standen, John married Ann Goodsall, James may have married Hannah Ford, & Anthony married Eleanor Eldridge. I have some descendants of the three certainties (4000 for Eleanor Cooke) but would like to bring the others up to date as much as I can. I have a contact with Anthony's family (his son Anthony m Matilda Bradford and their son Fred, who died in WWI, is gt gfather of my contact). However, her knowledge of family apart from Anthony & Matilda is minimal. I also have a contact in New Zealand who is descended from John's family. I would love to hear from anyone who has links with any of this family (even those in Australia who are descended from either Eleanor Cooke's sibling's families (children of Thomas Cooke & Mary Apps) or within the William (Cooke) Osborne one, he marrying Mary Cheaney of Salehurst in 1829 and migrating to Victoria in 1852 with their 7 kids.) I'll leave it at that for now. And hope ... Graeme Osborne, Perth, Western Australia |
