I'm trying to find out any information on my great-grandmother Margaret Hamilton. I believe she was born in Ireland c. 1890 but moved to Glasgow after the death of her parents. Her parents were John Hamilton and Helen Hamilton (born Helen Johnston). I have no idea which part of Ireland they were from, but John Hamilton may have been a mill owner/manager. She married John Bett in 1910, and had 5 children, Margaret (Peggy), Helen (Nellie), Mary, John and Alexander. I think she may also have had a sister, Ellen/Helen who married a John Moir in Glasgow. Margaret's address at the time of her marriage was Eaton Place, Bearsden. She died in 1959. |
