Hello Sarah, don't worry about digging up old threads. There are more members on the boards who will help rather than criticize.

When checking past posts just slide your cursor over the poster's picture and you will see when they became members and how many posts they've put on the boards. This will give you an idea of how active they are.

We've been told by GR that most people only stay around about 6 months. At least that's their reasoning for their subscription policy!

My Dad's mum was a Thomas Furminger, son of Edward and Mary, I think. She was born on the Isle of Sheppey and lived in Chatham. I have a couple of names for her line on my tree. Her Daughter, my aunt is still in touch with her brothers family who moved to Canada and knows more about them.
I have only just started doing this so it is early days for much info.

Being the last in the line of Furmingers from Chatham I am trying to trace through my paternal line, but have come unstuck at my great grandfathers father in the 1901 census. Are there any Furmingers out there who know if they are related to us Chatham Furmingers? There seem to be a few of you in Maidstone and Sittingbourne? Any help please?
