I'm looking for connections with my husband's maternal grandfather, WALTER HORN, probably born in the late 1880s. He married a girl from Scotland who was a STEWART, but we don't we don't know her first name. She died early when my late mother-in-law was very young. My mother-in-law's Christian names were Winifred Grace Maud, at least one of these being after her mother. Walter Horn was a sailor for much of his life, first on sailing ships and then on steam. His married years were spent in Southampton, but we don't know where he came from originally - Hampshire, we think, posssibly the New Forest area (Horn is a common name in Hampshire). He and his wife had several sons, and just the one daughter. Does any of this ring any bells with anyone? |
