Trying to find Ruddy

John Report 21 Jan 2003 10:19

I am looking to trace any relatives of my Grandfather, Patrick RUDDY, who was born in 1909, on Clare Island, County Mayo, Ireland. He had 2 older brothers, one of whom, Michael, lived for a time in Liverpool, England. A third brother, John, died in 1981. Their father was Michael RUDDY, mother was Margaret TOOLE. Michael RUDDY was still alive in the 1980's in the Liverpool/Merseyside area, and had at least one daughter. I would like to get in touch if possible. Patrick married Nora GRADY, also of Clare Island, who had brothers William and Austin. William died in 1985, whilst Austin lived during the 1970's in Rugby, England. Austin was married and had children I believe, again, I would like to get in touch. I have a list of Uncles and Aunts of my grandfather, but no descendants of these: Mary RUDDY born c. 1873 Michael RUDDY born c. 1879 (married Margaret TOOLE) John RUDDY born c. 1881, married Bridget, daughter Mary RUDDY born c.1910 Patrick RUDDY born c. 1881 Winnie RUDDY born c. 1884 Margaret RUDDY born c. 1886 Michael was the third born, I cannot trace the name of the second born child, who would have been in their 20's at the time of the 1901 Census, so could have already moved/emigrated. Their father (my Great-Great-Grandfather) was Thomas RUDDY, born c. 1843, married Mary, born c. 1847. He had two brothers, John RUDDY born c. 1834 and Charles RUDDY born c. 1837 who were transported in 1849, for sheep stealing. Any help or further information will be much appreciated.
