Stuart in Edinburgh and Aberdeen My 2x great grandfather, Charles Stuart, a hammerman / engineer, married Mary Hay McHardy (born Aberdeen 1829) at Edinburgh St.Cuthbert's in 1853. At the time of their marriage, Charles had been living at 28 Earl Grey Street and Mary had been living at 9 Graham Street, both in St.Cuthbert's Parish. They had a daughter in Edinburgh in 1855, but by 1856 were living in Aberdeen Old Machar. Charles seems to have died in Aberdeen sometime between 1869 and 1880, but I can find no record of his death or any details of his life before his marriage.
