Peter Emails are stripped from messages (like on friendsreunited) for 3 reasons. - as you say, first contact goes through us thus ensuring peoples details remain private so the person who is contacted can choose to give up their email address by replying. This also is our source of revenue, GenesConnected is free at the moment but the same contact charge will be introduced in the same way that FriendsReunited works. - it protects your email address - if we published everyones email there are programs on the web that will extract them and you will be spammed for ever more - it stops commercial companies from trying to advertise on our boards and hence ruining them.
